2011 Junior championships-September
Once again the Championships were the highlight of the local tournament calendar. The weather was on our side over a couple of terrific weekends. Of particular interest was the singles champions who will now have the honour of having their names placed on the championships honour board. Their name will forever be emblazoned on the board for future generations to admire and aspire to.

The following have the honour: Monique Marquis continues her charge to have her name on the honour board more than any other player with a win in both the under 12 and under 14 girls singles events. In the 12's she was too strong for the field, not dropping a game all tournament. In the under 14 event we were expecting a marathon encounter with long time friendly rival, Jemima Purvis. Unfortunately the curse of Jemima's back struck before the final. In spite of a valiant effort Jemima could not match Monique under bad pain. This takes nothing away from Monique's efforts and she will have her name added twice more to the honour board.
Ella Purvis has won the under 18 girls singles for a second consecutive year, this time with a win over fellow Frensham player Annabelle King. It was just fantastic to have such a strong representation of Frensham girls in this years tournament.
Sara Mooney proved too strong for Rhiannon Feely in the under ten girls event. Sara is off to the USA to live in November, so she leaves her mark on Bowral in the best way possible.
The under 16 girls was won by Jemima who mad amends for her 14 girls singles with a wonderful win over the much improved Elizabeth Pratt.
The boy's events belongs to Sam Donovan thus far, with wins in both the 18 boy's and 16 boy's singles. Sam was clearly the dominant player with win's over Ben Farrell and Dominic Marquis in respective finals. This is Sam's first entry onto the board since the under ten's and well deserved indeed.
Mark Lindberg has taken out the 14 and under title with a good win over Conor Lynch in the final, whilst Emil Thaning was too strong for all comers in the 12 and under singles. The final seeing a victory over Liam Feely.
The ten boy's singles was the highlight for the championships so far with an abundance of talent on display. In the end it was the number one seed, Ryan McCann who had an epic win, 8-6 over the unseeded and unheralded Jack Turkic. Jack went through the number 5, 3 and 2 seed before leading Ryan 6-5 in the final. Alas, he fell at the final hurdle after a monumental display. Of course well done to Ryan who will now have his name on the honour board for the first time.
